Location, location, location. Property, property, property. Kingdom, democracy, Communism.

Location, location, location.

This is the property investor's mantra: location, location, location.
"It means identical homes can increase or decrease in value due to location. It's repeated three times for emphasis, and so you will remember the phrase. It's the number one rule in real estate, and it's often the most overlooked rule." (From homebuying.about.com.)
When it comes to a country's political system, the mantra is property, property, property.

It should be the number one rule in choosing a country's political system, "and it's often the most overlooked rule."

All political systems are fundamentally about how to divide the "lands" of the country.

The fundamental reason for communism is about property. No private property. All state or communal property. Although communism has almost died off, it is worth remembering that this property reason was strong enough to excite the whole world. There were enough poor without property for the communist revolution to sweep around the world.

Communism is dying out. Full centralized property did not work out well. But that is not the end of the property revolution.

Today's inequality is creating more and more poor without property. They will look for and demand a new political system.

The new political system exciting interest round the world is one with unconditional basic income or citizen dividend. This is again about property. There is private property. There is "state" property which is really common property that should be held by the government in trust for the people. The common property is sufficient to pay a good unconditional basic income in many countries.

Here's a simple description for a few political systems.

Property, in the form of citizen dividend or unconditional basic income.

In the communist revolution, the poor masses fought against the elites, who were supported by the government. In many democratic revolutions and "springs", the property remains with the state and the elite, with the poor masses still with no property.

In the unconditional basic income revolution, the poor masses have to fight against the state. This will be a revolution based on votes and referendums. The Swiss are going for a referendum on unconditional basic income. The world is watching.
