The Dalai Lama and Citizen-ownership Democracy

"Each country belongs essentially to their own people"

"The world belongs to humanity, not this leader, that leader, kings or religious leaders. The world belongs to humanity. Each country belongs essentially to their own people," he said in an interview Wednesday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."

Yes, a country belongs to its people. Most people agree with this. The really important step is to turn this into reality, into cold hard cash that goes to the citizens' pocket.

Politicians can shout, "This country belongs to you."
But it is of absolutely no use if there is no benefit that links directly to that ownership.
A citizen-ownership democracy implements that benefit.
