Freedom from poverty is a fundamental human right

From UNESCO:

The world has never been as rich as it is today, yet over
one billion people suffer from extreme poverty.

UNESCO is committed to raising awareness to the fact that
freedom from poverty is a fundamental human right

One good way to eradicate poverty is to adopt a citizen-ownership democracy where each citizen is a co-owner of his country's common properties and where monies raised from common properties must be distributed to all citizens annually. This ownership right must go together with the voting rights. As seen in the Singapore example, the citizen income from sales or leases of common properties is more than enough to raise every citizen above poverty.

I urge UNESCO and the United Nations to take up this idea.
